St Andrews — New Course¶
Old Tom Morris's second course at St Andrews, opened 10 April 1895 (with civil engineer W. Hall Blyth) to relieve pressure on the Old Course. A classic out-and-back links with shared fairways, deep pot bunkers, gorse and a double green at the 3rd/15th — the Old Course's vocabulary, tighter and often rated the toughest test in town.
Location¶
St Andrews Links, in town — adjacent to the Old Course, walkable from the centre. Map.
The Course¶
Par 71, 6,625 yds (white). Four par-3s, deep revetted bunkers, and a routing that borrows the Old Course's best trick: out along the sea, back along the town. No official hole names published.
